WHAT IS ACADEMIC TRACK?
Academic track consists 4 strands. These are STEM( Science and Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), HUMSS ( Humanities and Social Sciences), GAS ( General Academic Strand) and ABM ( Accountancy Business and Management). Academic track is the most familiar track among those 3(three) because students usually apply to colleges after graduated from senior high school. This track makes college life easier for the reasons that it consists of courses that are related to it. The only difference is the subjects are highly specific and specialized. This track prepares students to be prepared for their future careers such as business management, engineering, politics etc..

Choosing the academic track, students can choose from four different strands: General Academic; Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics; Accountancy, Business, and Management; and Humanities and Social Sciences. Students may choose their strand in the same way that they decide a course in college. Aside from the 15 core subjects, these strands will add 16 subjects composed of dif:ferent contextualized and specialized subjects based on the track and strand that will be spread out in grades 11 and 12.

1. STEM (Science and Technology, Engineering and Mathematics)
– In terms of analyzing of data, mathematics, science literacy and technologies, these are related to STEM. Students making math and science interesting by applying hands-on and minds-on lessons that helps the student to do much more than just learning. It enhance your technological skills and creates critical thingking and will make the next generation to be innovators. By exposing students to STEM and giving them opportunities to explore STEM-related concepts, they will develop a passion for it and hopefully pursue a job in a STEM field leads to sustain our economy. 2. HUMSS (Humanities and Social Sciences)
– Humanities and Social Sciences deals with studying the diversity of human behaviours and interaction in social, cultural,environmental,economic and political contexts. HUMSS were about to investigate the human condition, using primarily analytical, critical, or speculative methods. the social sciences are fields of study that may involve more empirical methods to consider society and human behavior, including anthropology, education, linguistics, political science annd international relations, sociology, geography, law and psychology. In this strand you will enhance your speaking and argumentative skills and you can prefer courses like lawyer, teacher, police, politician, writer and etc..

3. GAS ( General Academic Strand)
– General Academic Strand is for incoming SHS who are not yet decided on what course they will take in college. ABM strand includes careers of sales management, marketing director, human resources, bookkeeper, project officer, accounting clerk, internal auditor, and more. ABM strand subjects were designed to develop and improve your skills in corporate world. These studies and subjects pertains management and financial accounting along with the business, legal, and organizational context that you would encounter in your career paths.
By taking the ABM strand you will be trained to analyze assets, understand everything involved with financial positions, interpret various profitability, and prepare audit accounts.
